SweethomeeEvery year before Diwali the whole house gets cleaned, and then the same question comes up: how do we make it look new? Painting takes a week and new furniture costs a lot. What guests notice first is the door, the sofa, the diwan and the bedsheet in the room they sit in. Change those and the house feels different. Here is the list we give customers who call us at the shop, room by room.
1. The main door: a new welcome mat
Rangoli goes outside, the mat goes right at the door. Pick one that matches the door width.
- Welcome PVC mat 12mm: anti-slip, in 38×58, 45×70 and 60×90 cm
- Welcome PVC mat 9mm embossed: in 38×58 and 45×70 cm
- Red hollow rubber welcome mat: in 40×60 and 45×70 cm, washes with water

2. The sofa: a stretchable cover
An old or faded sofa is the biggest thing in the living room. A stretchable cover makes it look new in ten minutes, and it comes off again after the festival if you want. We have covers for 3+1+1 sets and for L-shaped sofas, in floral, geometric, solid, embossed and textured designs.

3. Cushion covers: the cheapest big change
If you only change one thing, change the cushion covers. Velvet covers with a zipper in 12×12, 16×16 and 24×24 inch catch the diya light nicely. Keep the old fillers if they are still fluffy, or replace them with fresh microfibre fillers.

4. The diwan: a full matching set
In many homes the diwan is where guests sit for Diwali milni. One 8-piece diwan set gives you a bedsheet, bolster covers and cushion covers in the same design, so you don't have to match pieces yourself. Our chenille floral set is 500 TC; the printed set is a lighter, everyday option.

5. Dining chairs: covers for the sweets-and-snacks table
Diwali means a lot of eating at the dining table. Stretchable chair covers hide old or stained seats and can be washed after the festival. We have printed, plain velvet, glitter and polar fleece frill covers.
6. Bedrooms: a fresh bedsheet set
Guests often stay over, or at least sit in the bedroom. A new bedsheet with matching pillow covers is the quickest upgrade.

7. The pooja corner: a new aasan
Lakshmi pooja is the centre of the evening. A soft velvet aasan with tassels, round or square, 24×24 inch, looks neat in front of the mandir and is comfortable to sit on for the whole aarti. See the pooja aasan guide.

We ship from Panipat, and delivery across India usually takes 3 to 7 days. Order at least a week before the festival so everything is in hand before the last-minute rush. Cash on delivery is available, and you can ask us on WhatsApp if you're not sure about a size.
