Sleeping pillow and bolster size guide
A pillow that is too small leaves a baggy cover. Too big and the zip won't close. Here's how to get it right.

SweethomeeMost people buy a pillow by feel in a shop. Online you can't squeeze it, so size is the one thing you must get right. The simple rule we tell everyone: **buy the pillow in the same size as your pillow cover.** If you're not sure of your cover size, take it off and measure it flat, edge to edge.
Which pillow size should I buy?
Our sleeping pillows come in four sizes. Here is where each one fits:

What's inside: virgin microfibre
Our pillows are filled with virgin microfibre inside a polyester shell. Virgin means new fibre, not recycled bits, so the pillow stays even and doesn't form lumps quickly. It is lightweight and soft, and it bounces back when you fluff it.
If you sleep on your side, you will like a fuller pillow, so go for the bigger size your cover allows. Back and stomach sleepers usually prefer the pillow a little flatter.
Do you need a bolster?
A round bolster (called gol takiya in many homes) is great for:
- Back support when you sit up in bed to read or watch TV
- Keeping between the knees or hugging while sleeping on your side
- Finishing a diwan, one at each end
- Putting a sofa-cum-bed together

Sofa cushions are a different size

Keeping pillows fluffy
- Fluff the pillow every morning: hold both ends and push them in a few times.
- Give it sun once a week. Half an hour on the balcony freshens it.
- Always use a pillow cover, and wash the cover weekly. The pillow itself needs washing rarely.
- When a pillow stays flat even after fluffing, it is time to replace it.
